``Over The Silver-lining'' is a stage musical that has been performed all over the country for 25 years. The original story is the radio drama ``Contrail'' (produced by FM Kagoshima in 1999) by screenwriter Fumiko Kusabe. It won the 38th Galaxy Award Encouragement Award, and since then, remakes have been made on TBS Radio, FM Yokohama, and other local stations. As a stage work, it has been performed all over the country since its premiere in 2000, with a total audience of over 100,000 people. The theater group ATELIEDGE, which continues to re-perform this work, is a small theater company in Tokyo headed by the author Namiki, but stage executive committees have been set up all over the country, and they are currently performing nationwide from Hokkaido to Okinawa, and are performing annually. It is popular with a wide audience of over 10,000 people. Last year's main performance in Tokyo was at the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Theater. It was a great success and was packed every day.
In addition, the English version of “Flowing Clouds” “Over The Silver-lining” by the overseas expedition team “Samuraising” received a standing ovation at the Kennedy Center in New York in 2019, and will be performed at the Dubai AKIRU Theater in 2023. The performance was also a great success and received high praise from members of the royal family. This work is neither nostalgic nor a vocal opposition to war. This is a vivid story of the lives of young people who risked their lives to protect what was important to them, and is a work that depicts the humanism of the Japanese people. 79 years have passed since the end of the war. Japan has the disgraceful title of being the most suicide-prone country in the developed world...Did our ancestors who lost their lives in wars want Japan to be what it is today? I think the time has come for us to reconsider how we should live our lives.
``Over The Silver-lining'' will continue to perform not only in Japan but also around the world in order to connect the message of love from the past to the future.
100 years from now, we will pass on the baton so that it can become one of Japan's representative works.
